Born on October 18, 1996, Patrick Jordan Sandoval is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels.
Sandoval went to Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, California, where he played baseball. He had a 0.97 ERA and a 9–3 record in his senior year.
He had first committed to playing collegiate baseball at Vanderbilt University, but he subsequently changed his commitment to the University of Southern California.
Sandoval was chosen by the Houston Astros in the eleventh round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft.
He forwent his USC pledge in exchange for a $900,000 signing bonus. He made his professional debut the following year with the Gulf Coast League Astros, going 0–3 with a 6.08 ERA in six starts.
He pitched for the Buies Creek Astros, Tri-City ValleyCats, and the Quad Cities River Bandits in 2017, compiling a combined 3–4 record and 4.09 ERA in 14 games (11 starts) for the three teams. In 2016, he played for the Greeneville Astros, where he pitched to a 2–3 record and 5.30 ERA in 13 games (eight starts).
Sandoval started the 2018 campaign with Quad Cities and was selected as the starting pitcher for the Midwest League All-Star Game. In late June, he was given a promotion to Buies Creek.
