One of the professional baseball players in the major leagues is Andrew Wantz. His full name is Andrew Hunter Wantz. He plays for the Los Angeles Angels baseball team and plays in Th position of a pitcher.
Andrew was born and raised in Holly Springs North Carolina on October 13, 1995. He used baseball in high school and continued to play college baseball for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Before he graduated from college, he took part in the 2016 collegiate summer baseball. He played with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League and was named a league All-Star. The Los Angeles Angels drafted him in the 7th round of the 2018 MLB draft.
Andrew signed with the Angels and started his professional career that season with the rookie-level Orem Owlz and the Single-A Burlington Bees. He played for the High-A Inland Empire 66ers and the Double-A Mobile BayBears in the 2019 minor league season.
In 2020, the season was unfortunately cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19 so no minor league game was played. The Angles assigned him to play for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees when the minor league season was resumed in 2021.
He made it to Angel’s 40-man roster in July 2021 and was also called up to the major leagues. He made his MLB debut for the team on July 4 2021 when they played versus the Baltimore Orioles.
