2017 saw Adell graduate from Louisville, Kentucky’s Ballard High School. He made a commitment to play collegiate baseball at the University of Louisville after his freshman year in 2014.

Adell was promoted to the major leagues by the Angels on August 4, 2020. That evening, he made his major league debut against the Seattle Mariners and went 1-for-4.
Adell hit his first big league home run on August 29, 2020, off Justus Sheffield of the Seattle Mariners.
He blasted his second home run in the majors that evening against Aaron Fletcher. Adell had a successful debut season at the plate. 38 games, 161/.212/.266 with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs.
Adell started the 2021 season with Salt Lake City’s triple-A. On August 2, he was recalled to the top leagues. The next day, he made his season debut against the Texas Rangers, going 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs, and a stolen base.
Adell hit the first grand slam of his career on August 17 against the Detroit Tigers. Adell finished the season batting . 35 games, batting.246/.295/.408, with 4 home runs and 26 RBIs.
