Pressley pitched a spotless ninth inning in his 60th appearance of the season on September 23, sealing a 9–5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels and completing the final condition for his 2022 contract to completely vest.

He’d be paid a minimum of $10 million. Pressly had a 2.19 ERA, 0.924 WHIP, and 42 saves in 160+13 innings since being acquired by Houston at the 2018 trade deadline. On the season, he had converted 25 of his 27 save chances.

He went 5–3 with 26 saves, a 0.969 WHIP, and a 2.25 ERA in 2021. He pitched 64 innings in 64 bullpen appearances, striking out 81 batters.

He had the lowest rate of walks and home runs in his career. On April 5, 2022, Pressly and the Astros agreed to terms on a new two-year contract agreement.

It was guaranteed $30 million for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, with a 2025 option. On April 16, he was placed on the 10-day injury list due to knee irritation.

Kat Pressly, who is Pressly’s wife, is a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. They tied the knot in Houston in December 2019. In August 2021, their first kid was born.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Pressly’s return from the disabled list will not take place on Sunday. At this moment, it’s unclear when Pressly will be able to return to practice. He’s eligible to play on Sunday, but he’s not quite ready.
