As a setup man and middle reliever in 2016, Pressly was a key member of the team. In a 6–4 victory over the Chicago White Sox on July 31, Pressly collected his first major league saves.

Pressly pitched in 72 games, which was the fourth-most in the American League and had a 6–7 record with a 3.70 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 75+13 innings.

He finished the season. Pressly’s role as a setup man and middle reliever remained unchanged in 2017. Pressly, on the other hand, was 1–2 with a 9.50 ERA in just 18 innings in the first three months of the season.

Pressly was demoted to the minors on June 6 and then reinstated on June 29 due to his troubles. After being called up from the minors, Pressly was able to regain his previous form, going 1–1 with a 2.75 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 39+13 innings.

In 57 relief appearances, he was 2–3 with a 4.70 ERA.

As a setup man and middle reliever, he maintained his job throughout the 2018 season. For the Twins, Pressly appeared in 51 games, going 1–1 with a 3.40 ERA and 69 strikeouts over 47+2/3 innings of work.

To acquire Jorge Alcalá and Gilberto Celestino, the Twins dealt Pressly to the Houston Astros on July 27th, 2018. Pressly had a 0.77 earned run average and walked just three batters in 26 games for the Astros during the regular season.

Houston’s post-trade success was largely due to his emphasis on analytics. Pressly’s curveball and slider had exceptional spin rates, according to the Astros’ analytics department, who urged that he use them more frequently.
