Blake Taylor, born Blake Michael Taylor is one of the professional baseball pitchers in the major leagues. He plays for the Houston Astros baseball team and earns $731,800 as an annual salary from the team.
Blake was born on August 17, 1995, in Orange, California in the United States of America. He had his amateur baseball career at Dana Hills High School in Dana Point, California. When he completed, the Pittsburgh Pirates drafted him in the 2nd round of the 51st overall selection of the 2013 MLB draft.
He made his professional debut that year with the GCL Pirates. The Pirates traded him in June 2014 to the New York Mets. That year, the Mets assigned him to play for both the GCL Mets and the Kingsport Mets where he recorded a combined 4–1 with a 3.95 ERA over 40+1⁄3.
During the 2015 minor league season, he was with the GCL and the Brooklyn Cyclones. He spent 2017 with the Columbia Fireflies and played between the St. Lucie Mets and the Las Vegas 51s in 2018.
Blake was assigned to spend 2019 with St. Lucie, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, and the Syracuse Mets. He was also selected to play for the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League. The Mets added him to their 40-man roster in November 2019.
He was traded to the Houston Astros in December 2019 and he made his MLB debut for the Astros on July 24, 2020.
