Mauricio Andre Dubón, a professional baseball shortstop and center fielder for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball, was born on July 19, 1994. (MLB).
In the 26th round of the 2013 MLB Draft, the Boston Red Sox picked Dubón out of high school. He played for the San Francisco Giants before making his Major League Baseball debut in 2019 with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Dubón was raised in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where he attended the Liceo Bilingue Centroamericano. After a Christian baseball mission team visited Honduras when Dubón was 15 years old, he began to put forth more effort to stand out on the field.
After watching Dubón play, the Capital Christian High School approached him about joining them in returning to the United States so he could develop his baseball abilities while finishing high school.
In the 26th round of the 2013 MLB Draft, the Red Sox picked Dubón. Dubón was promoted to the Lowell Spinners in 2014 after batting.245 in 20 games for the GCL Red Sox shortly after signing.
On December 6, 2016, the Red Sox traded Tyler Thornburg to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Dubón, Travis Shaw, and Josh Pennington. He played in 2017 for both the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the Biloxi Shuckers.
