Jacob Timothy Bird, simply referred to as Jake Bird is a professional baseball player known to play as a pitcher for the Colorado Rockies baseball team. He was born on December 4, 1995, to  Joel Bird and Heidi Bird.

Jake had his amateur high school baseball career at West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch, California. He then continued at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) when he was not drafted out of high school by any team. He played collegiate summer baseball for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2016.

Jake was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 5th round of the 2018 MLB draft. He signed with the Rockies and started his professional career that season with the Grand Junction Rockies of the Rookie-level Pioneer League. The following season, he played for the Asheville Tourists of the Class A South Atlantic League.

He did not play in 2020 as the minor league season was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He played for the Hartford Yard Goats of the Double-A Northeast at the beginning of the 2021 season. He was promoted during the season to the Albuquerque Isotopes of the Triple-A West.

In June 2022, the Rockies called him up to the major leagues for the first time and he made his MLB debut for the team on June 16, 2022, when they faced the Cleveland Guardians.
