Ian Book is the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He stands 1.83 m tall and weighs 93 kg. He attended Oak Ridge High School, where he participated in high school football. He participated in football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish squad at the University of Notre Dame.
In order to keep one year of eligibility, he decided to redshirt his freshman year. He came off the bench to lead the Irish to a 21-17 victory over LSU in the 2018 Citrus Bowl. He made the announcement that he would be coming back to Notre Dame for a fifth season as a redshirt senior in December 2019 via Instagram.
By the end of 2020, he was the winningest quarterback in Notre Dame football history with 30 victories overall, including 15 as a starter. His 72 touchdown passes are the second-most in program history. He was voted in ninth place for the Heisman Trophy. Ultimately losing to Alabama in the Rose Bowl Semifinal Round, he led Notre Dame to the College Football Playoff.
In the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Book was taken by the New Orleans Saints with the 133rd overall pick. His four-year rookie contract with New Orleans was announced in June 2021. By the Philadelphia Eagles on August 31, 2022, Book had been claimed off of waivers.
