The Padres traded Cimber and Brad Hand to the Cleveland Indians on July 19, 2018, in exchange for Francisco Meja.

In seventy relief appearances, he had a 3–8 record with a 3.42 ERA, and he shared the major league lead in intentional walks with nine, despite only having 17 overall walks.

The Indians transferred Cimber to the Miami Marlins for monetary considerations on November 30, 2020. Cimber had a 2.88 ERA in 33 appearances with Miami in 2021, striking out 21 batters in 34.1 innings of work.

Cimber was dealt to the Toronto Blue Jays on June 29, 2021, along with Corey Dickerson, for Joe Panik and minor league pitcher Andrew McInvale.

Cimber pitched 39 innings with the Blue Jays in 2021, going 2-2 with a 1.69 ERA and 30 strikeouts.

Cimber avoided salary arbitration by signing a $1.575 million contract with the Blue Jays on March 22, 2022.

Cimber grew up rooting for the Seattle Mariners.

“I was 14 years old, and I was incredibly little and underweight,” Cimber recalled from high school. His father advised him to try something different if he wanted to make the team.

Brad Ziegler of the Oakland Athletics’ sidewinder approach piqued his interest, and he began experimenting in his garden.
