American football tight end for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League, Adam Shaheen is a member of the Dolphins organization (NFL).
After graduating from Ashland University with a degree in football, the Chicago Bears selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was the first player from Ashland to be selected in the first round of an NFL draft in the modern era.
Big Walnut High School, located in Sunbury, Ohio, was Shaheen’s alma mater. In high school, he was active in the football and basketball teams.
Shaheen attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown for one year and participated in the college basketball program there. In 2014, he made the move to Ashland University where he immediately became a walk-on member of the football team.
He finished his career with 129 receptions, 1,755 receiving yards, and 26 touchdowns after scoring on 26 of those receptions. Following the conclusion of the 2016 season, Shaheen made the decision to bypass his senior year of college and instead join the 2017 NFL Draft.
