Walling Lake Central High School in Michigan is where Ogundeji played football during his high school years. He finished his junior year with 68 tackles, nine sacks, 17 pass breakups, and four fumble recoveries.
He also had 17 pass breakups. After making a verbal commitment to play for Western Michigan, he ultimately decided to play for Notre Dame instead.

Ogundeji was able to participate in each of the school’s 13 games during his junior and senior years. As a senior, he recorded 34 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
In addition, he recovered one fumble. After completing his senior year, he decided to play an additional year of football and finished with seven sacks in his career.
Ogundeji was chosen by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Falcons used the 182nd overall pick to make the selection.
On June 15, 2021, he became an Atlanta Braves rookie and signed a contract with the team for four years.
