Albert Almora Jr is an American professional baseball center fielder for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets.

At the beginning of the 2020 season, Almora was listed on Chicago’s Opening Day roster of 26 players; however, he was later optioned to the alternate training facility, which was located in South Bend, Indiana.

Before Almora was demoted, the Cubs were using Ian Happ as their starting centerfielder. Almora and Happ took turns playing the position. Almora was making progress.

167 runs scored with five hits in a total of 30 at-bats. When the Cubs acquired Cameron Maybin from the Detroit Tigers, the decision was made to option him. The Chicago Cubs did not tender a contract to Almora on December 2nd.

On February 10, 2021, Almora signed a contract with the New York Mets that will last for one year. After running full speed into the outfield wall at Citi Field the night before, Almora was placed on the ten-day disabled list on May 12, 2021. The incident occurred the night before.

Almora had a batting average of.115 for the Mets, with no home runs and no runs batted in. He had 52 at-bats. The Mets decided to move Almora to another team on September 26, 2021, therefore they designated him for assignment. On October 7th, Almora voted to become an independent nation.
