The National Football League’s Denver Broncos are fortunate to have Albert Okwuegbunam as their tight end. He is 1.96 m tall and he weighs 119 kg. He played wide receiver in football when a student at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Missouri, where he played football for the Missouri Tigers.



After redshirting his first year at Missouri in 2016, he participated in all 13 games in 2017. He hauled in 29 passes for 415 yards and 11 scores. He returned to Missouri as the starter in 2018, however his season was cut short by an injury. He had a strong year’s end with 43 catches for 466 yards and six touchdowns in nine games.

He has the most touchdown catches among all Mizzou receivers during his junior season in 2019, hauling in six of them while managing to catch 26 passes across 11 games. He averaged 11.8 yards per reception and has 26 catches for six touchdowns. After the 2019 campaign, he made the decision to forego his last year of eligibility and made a 2020 NFL Draft declaration instead.

With 98 catches and 1,187 yards over three seasons, he concluded his college career with 23 receiving touchdowns in just 33 games. Using the 118th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos picked Okwuegbunam in the fourth round. Due to a hamstring injury, he was put on injured reserve in October 2021. On October 30, 2021, he was activated.
