Alek Isaac Manoah is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Toronto Blue Jays.

He was drafted 11th overall in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft by the Blue Jays out of West Virginia University, and he made his MLB debut on May 27, 2021.

In Homestead, Florida, Manoah went to South Dade High School. He batted.492 with five home runs and 32 RBIs as a junior.

At Wrigley Field that summer, he participated in the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game. He committed to West Virginia University to play college baseball during his final year.

Manoah did not pick out of high school in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, instead, he enrolled at West Virginia University.

 

Manoah earned a position on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team in 2017 as a freshman at West Virginia, pitching in 19 games (ten starts) and posting a 1–1 record with a 3.07 ERA.

Manoah was 3–5 with a 4.50 ERA in 23 games as a sophomore in 2018. (eight starts).

He had a 1.50 WHIP, indicating that he struggled with command.

He threw for the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod Baseball League that summer, going 4–3 with a 3.57 ERA in nine starts.

Manoah was awarded a preseason All-American by Baseball America prior to the 2019 season.

Manoah was chosen to the Golden Spikes Award shortlist during the season and was unanimously crowned Big 12 Pitcher of the Year.

He was 8–3 with a 1.91 ERA in 14 starts at the time of the award, striking out 125 batters in 94 innings. He had a 9–4 record and a 2.08 ERA in 16 starts as a junior, striking out 144 batters in 108+13 innings.
