LSU’s No. 1 baseball team won the College World Series in 2015, and Bregman led the team in batting average (.312/.406/.534) and in stolen bases (38), and he was awarded LSU’s Skip Bertman Award, which honors the player who best embodied the spirit of the LSU Baseball program, and he had the second-most stolen bases in a season in LSU history with 206 assists.

In addition, the ABCA named him the Rawlings Gold Glove winner at shortstop, while Baseball America and the NCBWA named him a first-team All-American for the second time.

Alex Bregman was also named to the first teams of D1Baseball, Perfect Game, and Collegiate Baseball.

That year’s Golden Spikes Award went to outfielder Andrew Benintendi, who was one of four contenders for the award.
The Brooks Wallace Award for Shortstop of the Year, which he had won in 2013, was up for grabs once more.

Bregman slugged .338/.412/.520 with 66 strikeouts and 87 walks in 761 at-bats in 190 career games at LSU.
