Alexander David Bregman, professionally called Alex Bregman is a professional baseball from America known to play as a third baseman and shortstop for the Houston Astros baseball team. He is 1.83 m tall.
He was born on March 30, 1994, in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the USA. He played baseball for his high school at Albuquerque Academy. After high school, he enrolled at Louisiana State University (LSU) and played college baseball as a shortstop for the LSU Tigers baseball team in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
In 2015, during the MLB draft that year, he was drafted by the Houston Astros in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He signed with the Astros for a $5.9 million signing bonus.
He was assigned to play with the Quad Cities River Bandits of the Class A Midwest League in the year. He was later promoted during the season to play for the Lancaster JetHawks of the Class A-Advanced California League. In 2016, he was made to play with the AA Corpus Christi Hooks in the Texas League.
The Astros promoted him to the major leagues in July 2016 and he made his MLB debut that day for the Astros. In March 2019, he agreed to a six-year contract extension worth $100 million with the Astros.
