As a professional baseball player, Alexander James Jackson plays for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball. He was previously a member of the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins.
He was selected in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Seattle Mariners and made his major league debut in 2019 with the Atlanta Braves.
Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego County, California, was where Jackson went to school.
The Under Armour All-America Baseball Game was held at Wrigley Field in 2012 and 2013 both times he participated. It wasn’t long before MaxPreps named Jackson the finest high school prospect in the class of 2014, and he was voted Junior of the Year.
As early as March 2013, Jackson made a verbal commitment to Oregon. As a senior, he had 47 career home runs, which tied him for first place in the San Diego Section with John Drennen’s record.
Baseball America recognized him as the High School Player of the Year at the end of the season. A top prospect in the 2014 MLB draft, Jackson was widely expected to be the greatest bat taken.
In the first round, the Mariners selected him with the sixth overall pick, and he ended up in Seattle. On June 23rd, he signed a contract with the Mariners.
Before being sent to AZL Mariners, Jackson had a successful first season in the minor leagues, hitting two home runs and 16 RBIs in 23 games for AZL Mariners.
At the start of the 2015 season, he played for the Clinton LumberKings, who had him hit just.220. 157 in 28 games with no home runs and 35 strikeouts
