Andre Chachere started playing football at a young age. The cornerback was been mentored by his dad, Derrick Chachere , who played seven seasons in the Arena Football League from 1995 to 2002 and now a Defensive Coordinator at Bay Area Panthers.
Chachere attended Clovis West High School, where he was a member of the school football and basketball team.
Chachere was named to the first team of All-Tri-River Athletic Conference defensive backs twice throughout his career. As a senior on his squad, he was recognized as being the defensive player that contributed the most to the team’s success.
Chachere attended San José State University and played for the San Jose State Spartans for four seasons. Chachere also has a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from San Jose State, which he earned in May 2018.
Chachere was a cornerback for the San Jose State Spartans from 2014 to 2017 while he was a student at San Jose State University. Chachere started for his final three seasons after spending his rookie season mostly on special teams.
Chachere made 122 total stops, 4.5 tackles for loss for 14 yards (including a sack), three forced fumbles, seven interceptions for 169 yards, and 27 passes defensed in 49 games throughout the course of his career. Chachere made an interception in the end zone with one minute remaining in San Jose State’s 27-16 victory over Georgia State in the 2015 Cure Bowl.
