Andrew Benintendi s an American professional baseball left fielder for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB for the Boston Red Sox from 2016 through 2020.

Despite garnering no first-place votes owing to Aaron Judge’s unanimous victory, he finished second in the American League Rookie of the Year voting in 2017.

Benintendi batted.271 in 151 games for the Red Sox in 2017, with 20 home runs, 90 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases.

He batted.250 (4-for-16) with a home run and two RBIs in four games in the ALDS against the eventual World Series champions, the Houston Astros.

Benintendi was named to the team’s Opening Day roster once more. He was the team’s regular left fielder for the first half of the season, hitting second behind Mookie Betts.

Benintendi was selected as a candidate for a spot in the 2018 MLB All-Star Game in the American League’s All-Star Final Vote.

Benintendi had a.293/.379/.515 slash line with 14 home runs and 55 RBIs at that point in the season. Fans chose Seattle Mariners’ Jean Segura in the Final Vote.

Benintendi appeared in 148 games this season, batting .290 hits, 41 doubles, 103 runs batted in, 16 home runs, 87 RBIs, and 21 base steals.
