Andrew Stefan McCutchen is a professional baseball player who is American. He plays outfield for the Milwaukee Brewers baseball club. In 2005, McCutchen started playing baseball. The Pittsburgh Pirates picked him in the first round of the 2005 MLB Draft. He accepted their offer, and they gave him a signing bonus of $1.9 million.
He took part in the Class A Williamsport Crosscutters and Rookie Gulf Coast League (GCL) Pirates baseball games that year. Before the 2006 season, Baseball America ranked him as the 50th greatest prospect in the minor leagues. His entire 2006 minor league campaign was spent with the Class A Hickory Crawdads.
He received his first promotion to the major leagues and a contract from the Pirates in June 2009. He participated in his first MLB game on June 4, 2009, for the Pirates against the New York Mets. The Pirates were assigned to start the 2010 season as their regular centre fielder. He was dealt twice in 2018—first from the New York Yankees to the San Francisco Giants and then from the Giants to the New York Yankees.
