Andrew Wantz, the full name Andrew Hunter Wantz is an American-born professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels baseball team of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Andrew was born in Holly Springs North Carolina in the United States of America. He had his amateur baseball career at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he played college baseball for the school’s baseball team.
Whiles in college, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2016 where he was named a league All-Star. After he graduated from college, the Los Angeles Angels selected him in the 7th round of the 2018 MLB draft.
He started his professional career that same season with the rookie-level Orem Owlz and the Single-A Burlington Bees. He was assigned to the High-A Inland Empire 66ers and the Double-A Mobile BayBears for the 2019 season.
The 2020 minor league season was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic so Andrew did not play that season. In 2021, he played for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees and the Angels added him to their40-man roster in July that year. He made his MLB debut for the team on July 4 2021
