Bass has also participated in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters (NPB). At Wayne State University, he played baseball in college.
Bass studied at Wayne State University and Trenton High School in Trenton, Michigan, where he played collegiate baseball for the Wayne State Warriors.
