Anthony Bender, the full name Anthony Wayne Bender is known to be an American professional baseball player. He plays the position of a pitcher for the Miami Marlins baseball team. He was born on February 3, 1995, in Petaluma in California.
Anthony began playing professional baseball in 2016 when he was drafted out of college in the 20th round of the 2016 MLB draft by the Kansas City Royals. That year, he played for the Rookie League Arizona League Royals. During the 2017 minor league season, he was assigned to play for both the Class A Lexington Legends and the Class A-Advanced Wilmington Blue Rocks.
He played with the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball after signing with them in April 2019. In May 2019, the Milwaukee Brewers signed him on a minor league contract and he made his Brewers debut with the Single-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the High-A Carolina Mudcats, and the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers.
He elected free agency in November 2020 and signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins that same month. The Marlins added him to their 40-man roster and promoted him to the major leagues in May 2021. He made his MLB debut for the team on May 5 2021.
