Anthony Bender Parents: Meet Tami and Jim

American baseball player Anthony Bender, real name Anthony Wayne Bender, is well-known as a pitcher for the Miami Marlins. On February 3, 1995, he was born in Petaluma, California.

After being selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 20th round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of college, Anthony started playing professional baseball in 2016. He participated in that season’s Rookie League Arizona League Royals. He was given the Class A Lexington Legends and the Class A-Advanced Wilmington Blue Rocks to play for in the 2017 minor league season.

He signed with the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball’s Sioux City Explorers in April 2019 and played for them. He was given a minor league deal by the Milwaukee Brewers in May 2019, and he played for their Single-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, High-A Carolina Mudcats, and Double-A Biloxi Shuckers before making his Brewers debut.

In November 2020, after choosing a free agency, he agreed to a minor league deal with the Miami Marlins. He was added to the Marlins’ 40-man roster, and in May 2021, he was promoted to the major leagues. On May 5 of 2021, he made his MLB debut for the Marlins.
