Anthony Benjamin Kay is an American professional baseball pitcher who now plays for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. Kay was born on March 21, 1995, in the United States (MLB).

During the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, the New York Mets selected Kay in the first round with the 31st overall choice.

East Setauket, New York, is home to Ward Melville High School, which Kay attended throughout her high school years. However, he did not sign with the New York Mets after being selected by them in the 29th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. He played collegiate baseball for the University of Connecticut, where he attended school.



In 2014, Kay was a freshman at Connecticut and participated in 18 games, of which she started eight of them. He finished with a record of 5–4 and a 3.49 earned run average (ERA) while striking out 56 batters.

As a sophomore, he started 14 out of the 17 games he played in, and finished with an 8–6 record, a 2.07 earned run average and 96 strikeouts.

He started 17 games as a junior and had a record of 9–2 with a 2.65 earned run average and 111 strikeouts.

He was a member of the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League during the summers of 2014 and 2015 when he played collegiate summer base.
