Tarell Basham is an American football defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL).

He played college football at Ohio from 2013 to 2016. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Basham received his high school education at Franklin County High School in Rocky Mount, Virginia, where he finished his career with 82 tackles and 16 sacks.



After graduating from high school, Basham spent a year at a military academy before making his decision to enroll at Ohio University.

After graduating from high school, Basham attended the military post-graduate institution located in Chatham, Virginia known as Hargrave Military Academy for one year before enrolling at Ohio University, where he was a member of the football team for the Ohio Bobcats from 2013 until 2016.

As a senior, he established a new record for the school with 11.5 sacks and was named the Defensive Player of the Year for the Mid-American Conference.

Basham finished his career with 152 tackles and a school record of 29.5 sacks, all of which are still standing today.
