Are the Colts going to trade Carson Wentz?

The NFC East is getting Carson Wentz back. According to NBC Sports Washington, the former Eagles quarterback is being moved from the Indianapolis Colts to the Washington Commanders. The trade was initially reported by ESPN.

It’s incredible that just over a year ago, the Eagles acquired this player for an eventual first-round pick.

With this trade, the Eagles will undoubtedly face Wentz twice in the upcoming campaign: once at FedExField and once at Lincoln Financial Field, where he will once again face the team that originally selected him with the No. 2 overall pick.

Wentz will play the Colts in Indianapolis in addition to the two games against the Eagles in 2022. And at home, he’ll take on Doug Pederson’s Jaguars.

Wentz, 29, played for Frank Reich’s Colts for just one season in Indianapolis. In 2021, his numbers weren’t too horrible. The quarterback completed 3,563 passes for 27 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, but he struggled late, and the Colts brass has been evasive about his future all winter.

It’s unlikely that the decision to part ways with Wentz has anything to do with football given how this is turning out. It appears likely that some of Wentz’s personality flaws from Philadelphia also surfaced in Indianapolis.
