Austin Hedges is known to be a professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball. He plays as a catcher for the Cleveland Guardians baseball team. He was born to parents Pam and Charlie Hedges on August 18, 1992.

Growing up, he played baseball and was part of the Little League Baseball team where his father was the coach. He attended JSerra Catholic High School in his birth town and played baseball for the team. When he completed, the San Diego Padres drafted him in the second round of the 2011 MLB draft.

He signed with them and received $3 million as a signing bonus. He was ranked by Baseball America as the Padres fifth-best prospect in 2012. He spent the season playing for the Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Midwest League.

During the 2013 minor league season, MLB.com ranked him the fourth-best catching prospect in the minors. He was assigned to the Class-A Advanced Lake Elsinore Storm in 2013 and was promoted during the season to the Double-A San Antonio Missions.

He participated in the 2013 All-Star Futures Game. Austin joined the El Paso Chihuahuas of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League in 2015. He made his MLB debut on May 4 2015 for the Padres. He was traded to the Cleveland Guardians in August 2020 and he has been there to date.
