Avery Williams was born on July 15, 1998, to Pam Veasey and Marvin Williams. He was up in Pasadena, California, and began his high school career at Saint Francis before moving to JSerra Catholic High School before his senior year.



Williams was an All-Area selection at defensive back and co-Most Valuable Player of the Trinity League as a senior after rushing for 1,175 yards and 14 offensive touchdowns.

He was awarded a preferred walk-on spot on the Boise State football team despite not receiving any scholarship offers to play college football. He is an American football running back who plays for the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons (NFL). At Boise State, he played collegiate football.



The Atlanta Falcons selected Williams 183rd overall in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. On June 15, 2021, he agreed to a four-year rookie deal with Atlanta.

In 2021, he served as the Falcons’ primary kick and punt returner, as well as a pivotal member of the special teams and gunner. The Falcons switched Williams to running back in the 2022 summer, returning him to his preferred position from high school.
