Baltimore is home to the Baltimore Ravens, a professional American football team.
The Ravens are a member team of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division of the National Football League (NFL).



The team’s headquarters are in Owings Mills, Maryland, and M&T Bank Stadium is where they play their home games.

After Art Modell, then-owner of the Cleveland Browns announced plans in 1995 to move the team from Cleveland, Ohio to Baltimore, Maryland, the Baltimore Ravens were founded in 1996.



Despite their early difficulties in the late 1990s, the Ravens have been among the more prosperous teams since their inception, posting a record of 233-183-1. (.560).

Since 2000, the team has won two Super Bowls (Super Bowl XXXV and Super Bowl XLVII), two AFC Championships (2000 and 2012), had four appearances in the AFC Championship game (2000, 2008, 2011, and 2012), and won six AFC North division championships (2003, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2018, and 2019).
