Benjamin Joseph Gamel is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the United States (MLB).
He has previously played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers and Cleveland Indians in Major League Baseball.
In Jacksonville, Florida, Gamel attended Bishop Kenny High School. He is committed to playing baseball for Florida State University in college.
The New York Yankees selected Gamel in the 10th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. Before joining the Yankees’ 40-man roster after the 2015 season, he played for the Staten Island Yankees, Trenton Thunder, and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
On May 6, 2016, Gamel made his big league debut as a defensive substitute. For the 2016 season, he was named the International League’s Most Valuable Player.
In the tenth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft, Gamel was selected by the New York Yankees to join their organization.
