Blaise Andries (pronounced BLAYZ AN-dreez) was an all-state pick at Marshall High School in Minnesota, the same high school that produced 2021 No. 3 overall pick, Trey Lance.
As a redshirt freshman in 2018, he earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors as a 13-game starter (12 at right guard, and left tackle for the Quick Lane Bowl).
Andries was a third-team all-conference pick in both 2019 (10 starts at left guard, two at right tackle, one at left tackle), 2020 (six starts at right tackle, one at left tackle), and 2021 (three starts at left tackle, one at right tackle, nine at right guard). Sports information directors voted him a 2021 first-team Academic All-American, as well.
Big lineman with multi-positional starting experience. Andries possesses an NFL frame but doesn’t generate much push as a drive blocker.
His athletic limitations show up when asked to handle move-blocking duties and with his gap-to-gap range in pass protection. Andries’ size and roster flexibility help his chances of finding a roster spot, but he lacks well-defined play traits to make much of an impact.
Announced on Dec. 19, 2021, that he was forgoing his final season of eligibility and declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft after the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, he started all 46 career games he competed in, and helped lead Minnesota to a 30-16 record in those games.
He started at every position on the offensive line in his career except center, including five starts at left tackle, 11 at left guard, 21 at right guard, and nine at right tackle.
