Bobby McCain was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft after playing college football for Memphis.



McCain plays for is an American football free safety for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL).

McCain, an Alabama native from Sylacauga, played football at Oxford High School alongside Kwon Alexander. In 2011, McCain was ranked as the No. 36 prospect from the state of Alabama and was rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals.com.



Over offers from schools like Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Tennessee, among others, he decided to play collegiate football for Memphis.

McCain played his college career at the University of Memphis where he was a four-year starter and had 12 career interceptions, including 11 in his final two years.

On May 17, 2021, McCain agreed to a one-year deal with the Washington Football Team. In Week 6, McCain intercepted Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes for his first pick of the year. In the first half of the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10, McCain intercepted a pass from Tom Brady.

In the season finale against the New York Giants, he had two interceptions, one of which he returned for a score. On March 17, 2022, McCain re-signed with the group for a two-year, $11 million deal.
