When he was a student at Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, Texas, where he was coached by former Texas A&M football player Ed Pustejovsky, he participated in football for the school’s football team. During his junior year, Mann converted 46 of 48 extra points and 7 of 10 field goals.

He participated in the 2014 Greater Houston Chronicle All-Star team. As a senior, he made 25 of 25 extra point attempts and averaged 45 yards per punt on 41 attempts. After his senior year, he took part in the Under Armour All-America Game. He played football for Texas A&M University after receiving his degree.

Mann spent the majority of his first two years at Texas A&M as the kickoff specialist. His selection by all five NCAA-recognized selectors makes him Texas A&M’s 10th player overall (AP, AFCA, FWAA, Sporting News, and WCFF). He received the Ray Guy Award for excelling as the nation’s top collegiate punter.



In the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, he was taken by the New York Jets with the 191st overall pick. In that season, Mann punted 43.9 times on average for 3,598 total yards. With 3,598 total punting yards, he presently holds the NFL record. He was placed on injured reserve in September 2021 and released on November 13 of the same year.
