When he was a student at Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, Texas, where he was coached by former Texas A&M football player Ed Pustejovsky, he participated in football for the school’s football team.

In his junior year, Mann made 7 of 10 field goals and 46 of 48 extra points. He participated in the 2014 Greater Houston Chronicle All-Star team. As a senior, he made 25 of 25 extra point attempts and averaged 45 yards per punt on 41 attempts. After his senior year, he took part in the Under Armour All-America Game. He played collegiate football at Texas A&M University after receiving his degree.

Mann spent the majority of his first two years at Texas A&M as the kickoff specialist. Being selected by all five NCAA-recognized selectors makes him the 10th player from Texas A&M to do so (AP, AFCA, FWAA, Sporting News, and WCFF). He received the Ray Guy Award for being the greatest collegiate punter in the nation. He was taken by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 191st overall pick.

Throughout that year, Mann accumulated 3,598 total yards, and his punting average was 43.9. With 3,598 total punting yards, he holds the NFL record. In September 2021, he was placed on injured reserve, and on November 13 of the same year, he was activated.
