Brandon Michael Bielak is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Houston Astros. Bielak attended the University of Notre Dame and played baseball there.



He was drafted in the 11th round of the 2017 MLB draft by the Astros, and he made his professional debut in 2020.

Bielak grew up in Sayreville, New Jersey, and whiles a student at the  St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, New Jersey,  he was part of the baseball team.



As a senior in 2014, he went 8-1 with a 0.58 ERA, striking out 87 batters in 60.2 innings pitched.

Bielak went to the University of Notre Dame and played collegiate baseball for the Fighting Irish after going undrafted out of high school in the 2014 MLB draft.

Bielak went 6-3 with a 3.55 ERA in 17 games (14 starts) as a freshman in 2015, and 3-2 with a 2.10 ERA in 15 games as a sophomore in 2016.

After his sophomore year, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he was selected as a league all-star.

He finished 2-6 with a 5.55 ERA in 15 games as a junior in 2017. Following his junior year, he was taken in the 11th round of the 2017 MLB draft by the Houston Astros.
