Brett Maher Contract, Salary and Net Worth

Brett Maher

According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, the Dallas Cowboys are expected to announce the signing of veteran kicker Brett Maher and the release of youngster Jonathan Garibay on Tuesday.

If that happens, Maher and Lirim Hajrullahu will face off in a kicking competition. This will not be Maher’s first time participating in a rodeo with the Cowboys.

During the 2018 and 2019 seasons, the 32-year-old played for the team, but things didn’t go well because he only converted 65 of his 84 field goal attempts.

Greg Zuerlein, who over the last two seasons has missed 13 field goals and nine extra points for the Cowboys, has replaced Maher as the Cowboys’ kicker.

Let’s just say that the team’s decision to sign Maher was not received with great enthusiasm.

Maher played the first half of the 2021 season with the New Orleans Saints after spending the whole 2020 season on the practice squad with the New York Jets, Washington Commanders, Houston Texans, and Arizona Cardinals. He made 16 of 18 field goal attempts in eight games and 10 of 12 extra-point attempts.
