He grew up in Palm Desert in California where he had his high school amateur baseball career at Palm Desert High School. Whiles in high school, he the baseball team, the Aztecs, to the California Interscholastic Federation championship during his junior year in 2012.
After high school, he continued at the Arizona State University where he played college baseball for the Arizona State Sun Devils. He also played collegiate summer baseball with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League before he graduated from college.
He graduated from the University in 2015 and was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the fifth round of the 2016 MLB draft. He played in minor leagues for the Rockies till 2022 when they selected his contract and promoted him to the major leagues. He made his MLB debut for the Rockies on May 18, 2022.
Brian played his second game for the Rockies on May 21, 2022, where he recorded two home runs against the New York Mets, becoming the first player in MLB history to record his first two career hits with two multiple-run home runs in the same game.
