Born on  April 22, 1997, Bryan Enrique Abreu, a pitcher with the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball, is 25 years old at the moment. Abreu joined the Astros in 2013 as an international free agent. In July 2019, he made his major league debut.

In November 2013, Abreu agreed to terms with the Houston Astros as an unrestricted foreign free agent. With the Astros of the Dominican Summer League in 2014, he made his professional debut, finishing 0-2 with a 6.55 ERA in 22 bullpen innings.

In his first 14 games back in the DSL in 2015, he pitched to a 2-2 record and 3.83 ERA (ten starts). He started the 2016 season with the Greeneville Astros before being transferred to the Astros of the Gulf Coast League. He had a record of 2-5 and a 4.89 ERA in 38.2 innings.

He pitched for both the Tri-City ValleyCats and the Quad Cities River Bandits in 2018, posting a 6-1 record with a 1.49 ERA over 14 games. He returned to Greeneville in 2017, finishing 1-3 with a 7.98 ERA in eight games  (seven starts).

After the 2018 campaign, the Astros added Abreu to their 40-man roster.

He started the 2019 season with the Fayetteville Woodpeckers before being promoted to the Corpus Christi Hooks, who also happened to be the team for whom he was selected as a Texas League All-Star.

The Astros moved Abreu to the major leagues on July 31, 2019. That evening, he relieved and pitched a scoreless inning in his major league debut. He was optioned back to Double-A Corpus Christi the next day.

Prior to being optioned off the squad in 2020 because of poor accuracy, Abreu walked seven hitters and hit two in 3.1 innings.
