Baseball pitcher Bryan Enrique Abreu was born in the Dominican Republic on April 22, 1997. The Houston Astros are his current Major League Baseball team. As an international free agent in 2013, Abreu agreed to a deal with the Astros. He made his professional debut in July 2019.

Abreu signed a contract with the Houston Astros in November 2013 after becoming an unrestricted international free agency. With the Astros of the Dominican Summer League, he made his professional debut in 2014, tossing 22 innings out of the bullpen and going 0-2 with a 6.55 ERA.

He threw to a 2-2 record and 3.83 ERA in his first 14 games back in the DSL in 2015. (10 attempts) He began the 2016 campaign with the Greeneville Astros before being moved to the Astros of the Gulf Coast League. In 38.2 innings pitched, he went 2-5 with a 4.89 ERA.

He pitched for the Quad Cities River Bandits and the Tri-City ValleyCats in 14 games in 2018, posting a 6-1 record and a 1.49 ERA. In 2017, he went back to Greeneville and participated in eight games, going 1-3 with a 7.98 ERA.

The Astros added Abreu to their 40-man roster after the 2018 season.

Before being promoted to the Corpus Christi Hooks, for whom he was chosen as a Texas League All-Star, he began the 2019 campaign with the Fayetteville Woodpeckers.

On July 31, 2019, the Astros elevated Abreu to the major leagues. He pitched a bullpen inning that night and held them scoreless to make his major league debut.

The next day, by an option, he was sent back to Double-A Corpus Christi. Abreu walked seven batters and struck out two in 3.1 innings of work before being released by the team in 2020 because of poor accuracy.
