Bryan Anthony Shaw is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball.

Shaw was born on November 8, 1987, in the United States (MLB). Earlier in his career, he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, and Seattle Mariners.

Shaw is the son of Richard Shaw, who served in the California Highway Patrol, and Michelle (Shelli) Shaw. Richard is Shaw’s father.



He went to Livermore High School, which was located in Livermore, California, and while there, he participated in the sports of baseball, football, and basketball. Long Beach, California’s California State University, was Shaw’s alma mater.

He was a member of the Long Beach State Dirtbags baseball team during his time as a collegiate athlete. Shaw’s college roommate was Vance Worley, who was also on the team.

During the summer of 2007, Shaw was a member of the Chatham A’s baseball team, who competed in the Cape Cod Baseball League.

The Arizona Diamondbacks picked Shaw in the second round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft. Shaw dealt with the Cleveland Indians on December 11, 2012, in a three-team transaction that included Trevor Bauer and Shin-Soo Choo.

On July 22, 2020, Shaw signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Mariners. On August 7, 2020, he was optioned to an alternative location and assigned for duty on August 15, 2020.

Shaw signed a minor league deal with the Cleveland Tribe’s organization on February 3, 2021, and was invited to spring training.
