Byron Buxton Parents: Meet Felton Buxton and Carrie Buxton

One of the professional baseball players on the Minnesota Twins is Byron Buxton, real name Byron Kerion Buxton. On December 18, 1993, he was born in the American state of Georgia’s Baxley.

Byron got into baseball when he was quite young. At Appling County High School in Baxley, Georgia, he played baseball as a student. He was selected by the Minnesota Twins as the second overall choice in the 2012 MLB Draft after graduating from high school. When he joined them, they gave him a $6 million signing bonus.

That year, he made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Twins of the Gulf Coast League’s Rookie Division. He was moved up to the Appalachian League’s Rookie Division’s Elizabethton Twins throughout the course of the season.

He participated in 2015 with the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League, the Twins’ new Class AA club. He received his first promotion to the majors in June 2015, and on June 14 he played for the squad in his first MLB game. In December 2021, he agreed to a seven-year contract extension with twins. The agreement had a $100 million value.
