A cornerback for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League, Byron Murphy Jr. was born on January 18, 1998. At Washington, he played collegiate football. Murphy attended Scottsdale, Arizona’s Saguaro High School.
He was a wide receiver and cornerback. He had 52 tackles and seven interceptions on defense and 88 receptions for 1,733 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior.

Murphy started at cornerback for the Cardinals as the 2021 season got underway. He had two interceptions in Week 3 of the 2021 season, including a 29-yard pick-six in a 31-19 victory over the Jaguars, which earned him NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
In addition to leading the club with 12 passes defended and four interceptions, he finished the season with 64 tackles.
