C.J. Uzomah Parents: Meet Stephanie Uzomah and Xavier Uzomah

Christopher James Uzomah, also known as C. J. Uzomah, is an American football tight end who competes for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He is 1.98 m tall and weighs 118 kg. He represented North Gwinnett High School as quarterback throughout his stay there.

During his senior year, he gained 74 yards on the ground, 168 receiving yards, one score, and 238 passing yards. He carried for 800 yards and added 10 touchdowns in his junior season, while also passing for 1,750 yards and 15 more. He played football for the Auburn Tigers, the team that represents Auburn University, from 2011 to 2014.

He only caught 29 passes over his four seasons at Auburn, seven of which were for touchdowns, and mostly played the blocking tight end position. He studied marketing as a major at Auburn. As a freshman, he threw a 4-yard touchdown pass. His name was taken by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

In May 2015, he agreed to a $4.49 million, four-year deal with the Bengals, as well as a $212,762 signing bonus. In March 2019, he extended his Bengals contract for three further years and $18 million. He started every game for the 2016 season and caught 27 receptions for 242 receiving yards and two touchdowns. In March 2022, he made a commitment to the New York Jets and signed a two-year contract with them.
