Wide receiver Cam Sims plays in the National Football League for the Washington Commanders. He is 1.96 m tall and 100 kg in weight. He went to Ouachita Parish High School where he played football in high school. He committed to play college football at the University of Alabama after graduating from high school and was regarded as a four-star prospect.
He was a football player for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2014 to 2017, starting off as a reserve before making a contribution in his junior and senior years. Sims signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in May 2018 after going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft.
After being let go by the team in August 2019, he was promptly added to the Redskins practice squad. In October 2019, he received a promotion to the active roster. In the Wild Card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he made his postseason debut. He was the team’s top receiver, catching seven passes for 104 yards. By the end of the 2020 regular season, he had 32 receptions for 477 yards and one receiving touchdown.
The Redskins issued him a restricted free agent tender in March 2021. Sims was switched off on December 15, 2021, and then turned back on four days later. Sims was then added to the COVID-19 reserve list. He renewed his agreement with the Commanders on a one-year deal in March 2022.
