Cam Sims is a wide receiver with the Washington Commanders of the National Football League. He is 1.96 m tall and weighs 100 kg. He played high school football while attending Ouachita Parish High School. He committed to the university as a four-star recruit right out of high school and named the University of Alabama his preferred collegiate football team.
From 2014 through 2017, he played football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Even though he played little during his first two seasons at Alabama, he had more of an impact during his junior and senior seasons. Sims was an undrafted free agent who signed with the Washington Redskins in May 2018 after going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft.
He was quickly added to the Redskins practice squad following his release from the organization in August 2019. He was promoted to the active roster in October 2019. He made his postseason debut in the Wild Card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was the team’s best receiver, hauling in seven passes for 104 yards. He had 32 receptions for 477 yards and one receiving score by the time the regular season of 2020 came to an end.
He received a restricted free agent tender from the Redskins in March 2021. On December 15, 2021, Sims was turned off, then four days later, it was turned back on. The COVID-19 reserve list was then updated to include Sims. He extended his contract with the in March 2022.
