In the National Football League, Tom plays professional football as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles. He weighs 130 kg and stands at 1.93 m. In high school football, while a student at Catholic High School, he played offensive guard. From 2013 through 2016, as a student at the University of Southern Mississippi, he played collegiate football for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles team.
As a rookie, he has made nine starts since making his season debut against Texas State. Against Boise State, he made his competitive debut. In each of the 12 contests he took part in as a sophomore and the 14 contests he played in as a junior, he started at center.
Tom signed a free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints in May 2017. He made his NFL debut in Week 3 of the 2018 campaign against the Atlanta Falcons. His employment with the team’s practice squad came to an end following the season in January 2021. He signed a reserve/futures contract with the Miami Dolphins in February 2021.
He was signed to the practice squad in November 2021 after being promoted to the active roster. On December 4, 2021, he was released and later re-signed. He was added to the list of the active players on December 24, 2021. In July 2022, the Philadelphia Eagles acquired Tom. He was released on August 30, 2022, and the next day he was added to the practice squad.
