Carlos Santana (born April 8, 1986) is a Dominican-American professional baseball designated hitter and first baseman for the Major League Baseball Kansas City Royals (MLB).
On June 11, 2010, he made his MLB debut with the Cleveland Indians, and he also spent the 2018 season with the Philadelphia Phillies. He has competed in international play with the Dominican Republic national team, capturing the gold medal in the 2013 World Baseball Classic (WBC). Santana, who is known for his plate discipline and power, has also shown to be an effective first-base defender.
Santana and J. P. Crawford were traded to the Seattle Mariners on December 3, 2018, in exchange for Jean Segura, Juan Nicasio, and James Pazos.
Ten days later, the Mariners sold Santana to the Indians in exchange for cash, the Indians moved Encarnación and a competitive balance draft selection to the Mariners, Yandy Diaz, and Cole Sulser to the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Rays sent Jake Bauers to Cleveland.
Carlos Santana is the husband of the lovely Brittany Santana. They have two children, a boy, and a girl, however, no details on how they met have been released. The youngest, a female, was born in May 2015, while the oldest, a boy called David, is a few years older.
