Carlos Watkins is a defensive end with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He stands 1.91 m tall and weighs 138 kg. He played football while attending Chase High School. He made 50 tackles and 14.0 sacks as a junior. He made 15 sacks, one interception, and five forced fumbles as a senior. He attended Clemson University after high school and played collegiate football for the Clemson Tigers team.



He participated in nine games as a true freshman in 2012, making 16 tackles and 3 quarterback pressures. Before becoming engaged in an automobile accident that resulted in blood clots in both of his legs and forced the termination of his sophomore season, he participated in three games with one start.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2014, he had 11 backup appearances while compiling 13 tackles and 4 quarterback pressures. His college career was finished in 53 games with 30 starts, 191 tackles, and 14 sacks. The Houston Texans made Watkins their first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

On March 22, 2021, he signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys to play defensive lineman in a 4-3 defense. On March 22, 2022, he agreed to a one-season contract extension with the Cowboys. After being released on August 30, 2022, he was later re-added to the practice squad. His inclusion on the Cowboys’ active roster came about on October 22, 2022.
